Below are some creative, fun ideas to raise funds for SU Qld or your local chaplain.
Organise an afternoon tea, morning tea, lunch or drinks with your sporting group, community group, a school group or workmates.
Guess the number of sweets in a jar
Collect small change from work colleagues every day for 2 months
Organise a chain of gold coins or a tower of gold coins
Be a lazybones! Get sponsored to stay in bed for 48 hours
Be a bookworm – organise a book sale
Test your IQ! Hold a local trivia quiz night
Organise a sponsored rubber ducky race on your local river
Spend a day on the river holding a fishing tournament
Give a formal lunch party and charge $50 per couple
Do a coffee shop crawl in your area and collect money along the way
Hold a party for your birthday, anniversary or anything for that matter and ask guests to make a donation to SU in lieu of a present
Make your own Easter eggs and sell them to friends and colleagues
Hold a beautiful baby contest in your local area
Organise an old fashioned country fair in your town or suburb
Home to roast – open your house as a restaurant for friends
Saturday night fever – disco the night away to 70’s nostalgia
Dress up as your favourite 80’s pop star and have an 80’s dance party
Rock aid – organise the local talent & stage a rock concert
Dancing is a lot of fun! Organise a dance party with a latin, rock n roll or ‘dancing with the stars' theme. Ask a local dance instructor to donate their services in exchange for promotion. Charge for tickets and donate the proceeds.
End the year on a high note – hold a carol concert

Stage a local fashion show
Have a garage sale, flea market or auction. Ask your friends and family to donate goods to sell.
Organise a car boot sale
Give it up – stop eating sweets or chocolate for the next two months

Have a sports challenge with friends or between local teams. Ask people to sponsor you for the number of runs, goals or tries. Charge for tickets,
Group expeditions can be sponsored and ticketed. Plus they're a great team building exercise. You could go as far as the Sunshine Coast, or just to the local coffee shop!
Organise your own fun run
Have a golf day. Test your techniques on the green and charge for the tickets or donate an amount for each point of the final score.
Have a free dress day, hat day or crazy hair day at your workplace, school or group. Pick a theme, make a donation, or "charge" double for people who don't get into the swing of things!
Organise a competition. Juggling, karaoke, skipping, paper aeroplanes, sprints, three-legged sack races, wheelbarrow races, egg and spoon race. The options are endless! Charge an entry fee. Entrants can also organise other staff to sponsor them (much like a "walk-a-thon").
Organise a lucky dip. Ask friends, family, staff or team mates to buy items for the lucky dip, or seek out donated goods. Ask people to pay a fee to enter the lucky dip.
Sponsor your boss to do something out of the ordinary like sit on reception for two hours, not talk, dye their hair, dress backwards or just to stay away from the office.
Have a treasure hunt. Write the clues to a treasure hunt by car, bike or on foot, and charge an entry fee.
