Camping is central to SU Qld’s ethos of engaging young Australians with Jesus, the Bible and local churches.
Each year, thousands of SU Qld volunteers run 70 camps to provide children and teenagers with a fun-filled, positive time away from home.
These leaders donate their time and money to ensure campers enjoy high- quality programs, individual care and a safe, well-organised holiday. SU Qld runs three types of camps including holiday camps, cluster camps and specialist camps.
Holiday camps Holiday camps are run during each holiday break for both primary and secondary school students.
These camps provide students with great adventures, such as visits to theme parks, beach activities, and bush-walking.
Cluster camps SU Qld organises a number of primary and secondary cluster camps each year aimed at attracting school students from specific Brisbane areas, or clusters.
In secondary schools, local churches, chaplains and volunteers from within specific areas support cluster camps.
Specialist camps SU Qld operates specialist camps for primary and secondary students interested in different pursuits.
Specialist camps are available for students interested in performing and visual arts, technology, week-long adventures in the bush and many other subjects.
These camps also often attract professionals trained in different fields.
